A taste of Ayutthaya’s history, its present-day food and the timeless practice of meditation.
Get a glimpse of Ayutthaya’s history the hop in a tuk tuk and visit some of Ayutthaya’s historic foreign communities. Experience typical local food, like you have never tried before and then head to a tranquil temple to practice some meditation.
Meet at our office at 09.00 and take a samlor (three-wheeled bike) to the Tourism Authority of Thailand Information Centre to get an overview of Ayutthaya’s history.
Then head to Phet Fort and after a short walk around the fort, take a local ferry across the river to Wat Panancheong, which houses the largest Buddha image in Ayutthaya and which dates back nearly 700 years.
After this, take a tuk tuk to the Japanese Village, the site of the Japanese settlement during the Ayutthaya period of Thailand’s history. Many foreign trading communities were established during this time. Visit the small museum there and then go to Baan Koh Rien to enjoy traditional Thai desserts, such as Thong Yip and Foy Thong, considered auspicious for religious ceremonies and very delicious.
Continue to the Portuguese Settlement and then have lunch at the nearby Muslim community. After lunch go to Wat Thamaram to practice some relaxing meditation exercises. We will then drop you off back at our office or your hotel.

Be comfortable! Be sure to wear clothes that are suitable for the activity you are participating in. If you are cycling, wear comfortable shoes, long sleeve top, and a pair of shorts or trousers. If you are visiting temples, please be respectful of the local culture and wear suitable clothing, such as long sleeves and long trousers or skirts. In case you prefer to wear short, simply bring a Sarong, which always fits in a your bag.

Solo travellers should enquire directly with ABT Journey’s was to whether the tour will be available to you on your desired day of travel. If your desired tour is already scheduled for you preferred day of departure, then it may be possible for you to join the tour as a solo traveller.
If you cancel your reservation 15 days or more prior to arrival date, a full refund will be given. Cancellation between 14-7 business days before your departure date, a 60% refund will be given (not including Sat, Sun & Public Holidays). However, if you cancel your reservation within less than 7 business days before your departure date, no refund will be given.
