Cooking ExperienceTraditional Thai Cooking Class Ayutthaya

Ship A-H-O-Y, Chef A-R-O-Y is the one of our CBT (Community-Based Tourism) projects. It is one of the ways in which we can share the benefits of responsible and sustainable tourism with the local people, taking into account their natural resources, cultural heritage and local economies.

The tour starts at 09.00 and you will experience true Thai culture with the local people through the art of creating the delicious tastes and fragrances found in Thai cooking. An experienced chef will show you, step-by-step, the secrets behind 4-5 authentic Thai recipes. After which, you’ll be able to cook them again when you get home as we are careful to select only ingredients that can be readily found in your own country.

Cruising ExperienceTraditional Teak Rice Barge Cruise

After taking your freshly prepared meal on board our beautifully converted traditional teak rice barge, we will take a 1.5-hour cruise along rural waterways from the village back into Ayutthaya city, taking in beautiful scenery and then the majestic city as you enjoy your lunch along the way.

At the end of the programme at around 14.30, disembark from the barge and set off for your next destination with a satisfied appetite and a smile on your face. If you take the car option, the tour will finish around 12.00.

How can I make a payment?

We accept credit card and PayPal payments on the ABT’s website. Both payment methods use PayPal’s payment gateway to ensure a safe and secure transaction process. Travellers wishing to pay with credit card can do so via the PayPal payment gateway WITHOUT the need to set up a PayPal account.

What should we bring with us?

Be comfortable! Be sure to wear clothes that are suitable for the activity you are participating in. If you are cycling, wear comfortable shoes, long sleeve top, and a pair of shorts or trousers. If you are visiting temples, please be respectful of the local culture and wear suitable clothing, such as long sleeves and long trousers or skirts. In case you prefer to wear short, simply bring a Sarong, which always fits in a your bag.

I'm a solo traveler, is there a single supplement?

Solo travellers should enquire directly with ABT Journey’s was to whether the tour will be available to you on your desired day of travel. If your desired tour is already scheduled for you preferred day of departure, then it may be possible for you to join the tour as a solo traveller.

What is our cancellation policy?

If you cancel your reservation 15 days or more prior to arrival date, a full refund will be given. Cancellation between 14-7 business days before your departure date, a 60% refund will be given (not including Sat, Sun & Public Holidays). However, if you cancel your reservation within less than 7 business days before your departure date, no refund will be given.
